a soft push–
a sharp intake of breath–
and then a smile.


pulling back your hair
as your head goes up and down–
I can see your smile


My feet are weary–
you kiss the back of my neck:
I’m walking on air.


I spread your legs
and find your blushing smile
upon your face

Noble Neddie arrives to the rescue.
Unfortunately, he arrives by train.
He resolves to be more careful when rescuing her prettier sister, Darling Lil.
“What a mess!” cry the sparrows.
The vultures make no comment.
